Welcoming. Comfortable. Warm. These are just a few of the words that describe the maternity wing at CHI St. Francis Health - a place for families to celebrate one of life's most blessed events.
The large, flexible rooms at St. Francis allow women to experience labor, delivery and postpartum care all in one room. There's plenty of space for family and friends to visit, and there's even a place for new dads to sleep comfortably. What's more, a whirlpool tub soothes and comforts moms during labor.
Our high tech fetal/maternal monitoring systems give nurses and other providers the best in medical technology. They capture patient information, which can be conveniently accessed, and generate alerts when necessary. They allow labor nurses to stay at a patient's bedside, giving the mother and baby the best, most efficient care possible.
Our team of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses are at your side with care and support during labor and childbirth. But it doesn't stop there. They also help new moms care for themselves and their babies. When breastfeeding is difficult, for example, nurses provide expert help and emotional support. St. Francis strives to stay current with advancements in technology to better serve the needs of our community.
Many of us, being moms ourselves, realize that support is helpful in those first few days at home. CHI St. Francis makes available to all new parents the Family Footprints Program. This consistes of two separate programs. The Hospital and Home Visitation program was created to support, inform and offer resources to parents to assist them in their role of parenting. the Parent Mentor program was created to provide a support network for younger parents being matched with an experienced parent in an encourageing, monitoring relationship. If you need more information please contact by using the contact us button on the website. We would happy to answer any questions.

Welcoming a new baby into the family is a precious time. Friends and family members will be anxious to come to visit. The Birthing Center welcomes visitors at any time. Please realize, though, that a new mom needs time to rest, to learn how to care for her baby, and also to simply get acquainted with him or her! Please plan your visit accordingly to give our new moms the "Quiet Time" they need and deserve.
